The Internet of Things, remote sensing, telemetry, predictive analysis, machine learning, big data, 3D printing, and artificial intelligence – are just some of the new terminologies gaining momentum in our common language.  But what do they really mean in terms of the impact on our lives, our work and our future, and what level of disruption will be created by data and  technology?

The keynote presentation explores the concept of creative destruction resulting from data and technology, and in the context of the Matrix movie encouraging delegates to take “the Red Pill” to gain more knowledge of the transformative changes and new realities that are upon us.

Through the use of examples and short case studies, delegates will journey from the benefits of remote sensing to effective decision-making through the application of the Internet of Things. Solutions to data collection and management in terms of telemetry, analysis and the use of visualisations are also explored. The key outcomes from the keynote presentation are to increase awareness of the potential that can be gained from data and technology and to encourage the embracing of what is now the emergjng realit
